My favorite valentine ever.
Check this out! The trailer for Hotwives of Orlando, a brand new series for Hulu that I directed! Danielle Schneider and Dannah Phirman wrote it, and you should get excited for it! It’s gonna be funny!
Who is in it? Oh, just a bunch of ridiculously incredibly great people: Casey Wilson, Danielle Schneider, Kristen Schaal, Angela Kinsey, Andrea Savage, Tymberlee Hill, Dannah Phirman, Stephen Tobolowsky, Joey McIntyre, Matt Besser, Seth Morris, Jerry Minor and Sterling Knight.
Oh, and with equally incredible guest stars like Paul Scheer, Kate Walsh, Al Yankovic, Rich Fulcher, Melissa Rauch, Horatio Sanz, Kulap Vilaysack, Jamie Denbo, Jessica Chaffin, Jeff Hiller, Mike Still, Mike Phirman, Pam Murphy, Brian Huskey, Deborah Tarica, Frank Caeti, Lauren Lapkus and more!
You can watch the trailer for the show here! Largely because I cant figure out how to get Hulu to let me embed it.
This is going to be amazing.
Here’s a Christmas sketch I wrote a few years back…It was so fun to make, and I’m still using the leftover wrapping paper and bows. Everyone wins!
Every year around Thanksgiving, it’s nice to stop, take a breath and take note of all the things we are thankful for in this world. Of course, everyone is obligated to say the standard: I’m thankful for family, health, friends, blah blah blah. But come on, let’s be honest with each other for once and say what we’re REALLY giving thanks for.
Being the trendsetter that I am (I’m not), I’ll step up and go first (I like to lead by example). Here are the top ten things that I am thankful for this year:
It’s so good! I binge watched the first two seasons over the course of a few weeks (more like 4 days), and now have the painful task of being patient and watching season 3 one episode at a time just like everyone else. It’s worth it though. Also, let’s lighten up on Mellie a little….she’s doing the best she can.
2. Just As Long As We’re Together by Judy Blume
This book is one of my all-time favorites (for the record, most of my other favorites are not found in the children’s section-not that there’s anything wrong with that). I first read Just As Long As We’re Together when it came out in the late 80s, and have read it once every year since then. Reading it instantly takes me back to childhood, when my two very best friends lived just a few blocks away (just like Stephanie in the book!) and you start realizing that your parents are people too, not just the bottomless pits of love who live to meet your every need. It also made me feel better about being a late-blooming chubby kid (anyone know if there is a book that will help me feel better about being a late-blooming chubby adult?)
3. Neko Case
She’s badass. Her new album is great. Her old albums are great. And if you haven’t heard the song Man
, stop everything you’re doing and go listen to it right now. Seriously. Go. Now.
I get it. They’re not super hip like cronuts, pretzel bread or kale, but I like to keep it old school.
5. 13 Going on 30
There is never a time when I don’t want to watch this movie. The script? Great. The acting? Top notch. The Thriller sequence at the office party? The best. Thirty, flirty and fun are words to live by. Don’t ever forget that.
6. Look At That Horse
This youtube video has been around forever, but it makes me laugh every time I watch it. See, the joke is the guy is looking at a picture of a moth, but thinks it’s a horse! Maybe it’s better just to see it for yourself (or watch
7. Stitch Fix
I hate shopping. I always have. It’s the worst…the sales people are either too aggressive or ignore you completely, and somehow, the dressing rooms always smell like farts. Stitch Fix
is a website that has literally changed my life. It has ensured that I never have to set foot in a Macy’s or Loehmann’s again. You fill out a profile about yourself and your style and then every month (or as often as you’d like) they send you 5 items (clothes, shoes, accesories, etc) that are tailored to you, your budget and body type. Seriously, it’s the best discovery of the 21st century (other than that whole Higgs boson thing).
I love it when it gets cold outside, and I get to put on my cozy clothes (polar bear pajamas specifically) and slippers…for 4 months straight. If you’re anything like me, you may be asking yourself, am I the type of person who wears their slippers outside the house? For me, it’s hard to say definitively. I’m lying. I am the very definition of that person. But instead of looking at it like a negative, I choose to think about it as living life to the fullest, while having my feet surrounded by soft, cushiony, faux fur holiday footwear.
9. Play Station 4
I know PS4 hasn’t come out yet, but I’ll be ever so thankful when it does. I don’t really know all that much about it, or why it will be better than PS3, XBox or any other gaming/streaming system of its kind, but commercials, blogs and general consumer buzz tells me it will be, so I believe it. And is it really so wrong to want the newest shiny thing to hit the stores? I for one, welcome another device that I can watch Netflix on.
10. French kissing
No explanation needed.
The Thanksgiving Feast show is one of my favorite shows of the year, and it’s only a week away! Will there be stuffing for the audience? Yep! Will there be pie for the audience? Yep! Can audience members come on stage and eat the turkey that is clearly meant to be a part of the show? Honestly, we’d prefer not, but it happened last year, so anything’s possible!!!
This is the greatest piece of art I have ever seen.
Truer words have never been spoken.
Pony and Scout are wearing the best Halloween costumes (they’re dressed up as each other obviously). Also, Scout’s backup costume was the embodiment of bad breath.
A day at the opera with @ferniecommaalex
Saw this real live bear today…no big deal.
